Dear Friends, My new novel is out now in paperback, ‘Misfortunes Daughter’. It’s a thrilling family saga rich with sibling rivalry, insatiable ambition, eroticism and addiction.
The story revolves around two sisters, Venetia and Atlanta, the privileged daughters of a beautiful Hollywood movie star Laura Marlowe and her Greek billionaire husband Nicholas Stephanopolis, a cold and cruel tycoon who controls and dominates his women as ruthlessly as he does his international business empire. It’s a compelling novel that plunges its readers into a glamorous world infused with intrigue and power, revealing some dark and shocking secrets along the way and it’s a great holiday read!
I am also delighted to be starting rehearsals in the summer of 2006 for ‘LEGENDS’.
This is a fantastically funny and entertaining play by James Kirkwood who wrote ‘Chorus Line’ and is about two feuding actresses who have hated each other for years and are now forced to work together again. Linda Evans my old nemesis Krystal Carrington from Dynasty will be playing the other actress and we think that many Dynasty fans are going to be anxious to see this glamorous lush production with exquisite costumes by Nolan Miller, directed by John Bowab and produced by Ben Sprecher.
Contrary to what many people wanted to think, Linda and I actually got along extremely well during the Dynasty years. The producers and the media loved to create feuds between us because it mirrored our hostility on the show. Well, in Legends there will be plenty of hostility (on stage only) between us, which should certainly satisfy Dynasty fans.
We are all extremely excited by the prospect of touring the US for 8 months and then New York.
My son Sacha Newley has had four of his portraits accepted for permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian Institute National Portrait Gallery in F Street at Eight Street NW, Washington DC 20506. Three of the portraits are of Christopher Reeve and he is having another exhibition of all of his work in January at the Wally Findlay Gallery in Palm Beach, Florida.
I have been so busy this
fall, in the acting profession it’s usually feast or famine and I’m happy to say this has been a big feast. I recorded ‘Loose Women’ in September with Kaye Adams, Carol McGiffin, Claire Sweeney and Coleen Nolan. That was fun. Then duked it out with Zoe Lucker (Tanya Turner)
in ‘Footballers Wives’. We had enormous fun portraying two of the biggest bitches on TV. She is a terrific girl and we got along really well. The two episodes I did were episodes 5 and 6 for series Five which will air in February/March 2006, so watch out for them.
Then I filmed ‘Hotel Babylon’ with Tamzin Outhwaite & Max Beesley, one of my favourite books by Imogen Edward-Jones.
I play a very different character in this, an aristocratic, rather timid lady who is looking for love. Then to NY and back here in December to host Have I Got News For You their Christmas special. |
