| Turning out for the Rita Hayworth Gala, a major fund-raising event to support the fight against Alzheimers – a disease from which film icon Ms Hayworth suffered..
Inspired by the 1964 film “Circus World,” where dazzling Rita played opposite John Wayne, this
year’s gala theme was “Beauty Under the Big Top.” To capture the energy and excitement found only under a big top, the Waldorf-Astoria’s Grand Ballroom was transformed by the splendor and magnificence of the circus with fantastic performers and amazing spectacles from Neil Goldberg’s Cirque.
The three-ring affair also featured an awards presentation honoring two compassionate crusaders in the fight against Alzheimer’s: Princess Yasmin Aga Khan and Maria Shriver. |
GEVRIL, the luxury Swiss watch brand, launched “Serenade,” its newest patented limited edition timepiece, at a crowded,
star-studded party at the “Tourneau TimeMachine” watch store in New York City.
Despite strong, gusty winds and heavy rains (the last of Hurricane Jeanne), some 475 guests attended (including Tourneau A-list customers, leaders in New York society and business, local celebrities and dignitaries) to see Oscar-winning movie star legend Paul Newman, actress Joan Collins, race car legend Mario Andretti (racing’s most decorated driver of all time), Jesse Palmer of the New York Jets, Mario
Dominguez, champion lead driver of the Herdez/Gevril racing team, and members of the team. Journalists and photographers from scores of local and national consumer print and TV media covered the event. |
