PLAYBOY LAYOUT 1983 - What did these words mean to everyone? Some cute little nymphet taking off her all for a thousand dollars? It was pretty meaningless in that respect. As far as I was concerned, it had farther-reaching consequences. Women had been exploited for years, whether by themselves or others. Being a woman of a “certain age”, reveling what I did in Playboy
was a definite plus for women by breaking the ageism taboo that so many women feared and dreaded. Be that it may, the December 1983 issue of Playboy became a sellout issue and a collector’s item. I realized it was because of me Joan Collins and not Alexis. |

On December 14, 1983 Joan was honored for her 30 years in motion pictures and television by receiving a star in the world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The star was placed adjacent to the Mann’s Chinese Theatre. Joan was the 1,772 star to be put in the famous sidewalk. |
